Course Description

The course is a basic introductory course in renewable energy and related technologies. The aim of the course is to present, inform and educate students on issues related to the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in Agriculture in order to understand the dynamics and value of renewable energy sources and to identify methods and frameworks for sustainable management of agricultural ecosystems. Specific objectives are, to document the necessity and potential of renewable energy exploitation, to present and analyse the various renewable energy technologies with examples and systems analysis and to enable the student to do preliminary design (sizing of renewable energy systems) especially in agricultural applications.
